Lanner Jubilee Celebrations
Monday 4th June saw the villagers of Lanner turn out in their droves for a sunny day of celebrations. They were treated to a fantastic performance from the Lanner Brass Academy, the Academy were then joined by the Lanner and District Silver Band for a rousing rendition of the National Anthem.
After the Loyal Toast, written for the Queen by local resident Pat Williams, read by Parish Councillor John Thomas MBE the Band performed the premier of ‘Her Royal Majesty’. This was again written by Pat, it was skillfully arranged for brass band by solo trombonist Gareth Cottrell.
It was then time for food to be served whilst the Band provided an entertaining programme fit for the occasion.
The event was put on for the village with the cooperation of the Band, the Village Hall, Lanner School, the Church and the Chapel. The Parish Council kindly provided financial assistance for the event.
